View ProfileA parenting coordinator (PC) is a third party neutral appointed by a Court to resolve custody disputes in high conflict cases. A may be appointed by the consent of all parties or by the Court if the parties don’t agree. A PC’s “client” is the Court, and the PC’s job is to help reduce conflict between the parties, using the parties’ Custody Order and the PC Appointment Order to navigate the various issues presented for determination. A PC is paid by the parties themselves, with the fees often being split 50/50 (or whatever is specified in the Appointment Order). PCs are often attorneys or therapists who hold certain qualifications and experience and have also received additional training. The appointment of a parenting coordinator can be for limited issues, or all issues related to custody.
